A Brief Overview This role is responsible for the development and implementation of an industry leading training program in support of Revenue Cycle Operations for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. With direct management of CHOP's Training, Education, and Quality Audit personnel and resources the Manager will take a blended approach to address new hire success, optimization, and efficient training practices. The Manager is responsible for performing continual analysis of departmental needs, culture, and performance assessments on processes across the Revenue Cycle and serves as a key contributor in strategizing with leaders and personnel on enhancement opportunities. S/he will be responsible for planning, development, and implementation of high impact and sustainable training approaches for short- and long-term goals.
What you will do Identify and assess revenue cycle training needs through the evaluation of staff performance, compliance analysis, and operational workflows and provides strategic direction for the development and implementation of recommended improvements. Supervises a staff of Training & Quality Auditors, responsible for the onboarding, support, and quality audit assessments for Patient Financial Services personnel that are directly responsible for: registration, billing, A/R follow-up, payment posting, and support services for the Revenue Cycle. Partner with management, performance consultants, and subject matter experts and measure the effectiveness of training efforts, transfer of learning, and impact of learning on business results. Partner with operational stakeholders and vendor counterparts in the development and documentation of internal procedures to be used in conjunction with Epic applications with accountability in creating communications to update staff on critical information and/or processes. Utilizes knowledge of CHOP policies, procedures, culture, and Epic requirements to design instructional content, eLearning development, and project management that aligns with the organization and department initiatives. Identify reporting and/or dashboard resources to properly manage performance and partner with appropriate stakeholders to execute and develop improvement monitoring tool(s). Validate data in new reports, applications, dashboards, and assist IT in design and testing of new solutions. S/he will provide support for the team HB Resolute Billing and PB Resolute Billing applications within the Epic electronic medical record system and other hospital systems. S/he will develop and maintain strong working relationships with other departments and stakeholders, such as clinical departments, finance, and IT, to ensure alignment and collaboration towards shared goals. Reviews team performance of quality and productivity reviews for consistency and compliance with established standards and mentors and/or coache team members by providing constructive feedback, advice, and best practices as needed. Completes performance evaluations, participates in interview panels, hiring decisions, and ensures team compliance with HR related procedures. Maintains departmental standards of excellence. Identifies and benchmarks against industry best practices, evaluating and measuring departmental performance in achieving standards of excellence. Manage instructional design resources and vendors to support the delivery of business unit learning solutions. Identify organization-wide skills gaps, create customized business and technical training programs to close specific gaps within each business unit (e.g. curricula and courseware, training guides, performance support materials, and reference documents) Design, develop, and deploy learning solutions including participant manuals, leader guides, job aids, online content, and procedure manuals. Partner with management, performance consultants, and subject matter experts, and measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training efforts, transfer of learning, and impact of learning on business results. Other duties as assigned.Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required Bachelor's Degree Instructional Design or related (e.g. Technical Writing, Educational Psychology, etc.) Preferred Experience Qualifications At least three (3) years Supervisory/Manager experience Required At least two (2) years Training experience; including content design and facilitation Required At least two (2) years Revenue Cycle Experience Required At least two (2) years Experience with Epic Systems Required Skills and Abilities Revenue Cycle knowledge; specifically, Hospital and Professional Billing Effective communication, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and solutions-driven with an analytical approach to problem-solving Computer skills required; exhibit expert skills in numerous desktop and other technical software applications such as Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Exceptional knowledge of adult learning theory and eLearning development tools Ability to forge and maintain strong professional relationships Strong business acumen to support a high performance work environment Experience developing and facilitating development programs to train a wide variety of business units Highly adaptable and will thrive in a rapidly changing, ambiguous startup environment Exceptional coaching skills, excellent communication skills, and planning/project management skills are also essential Licenses and Certifications EPIC certification - Epic - - Preferred To carry out its mission, CHOP is committed to supporting the health of our patients, families, workforce, and global community.
