This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Experienced Engineer/ Construction Manager in our Marlton, New Jersey office on a full-time basis. The following office locations will also be considered: Philadelphia, PA, Lawrenceville, PA, Somerset, PA, Bristol, PA . This position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that provides solutions on environmental site remediation projects.

Your Impact

• Engage in a team environment, working closely with project managers and co-workers to complete tasks and satisfy client needs.

• Safely perform work, both in the field and office, and operating vehicles on behalf of the company.

• Provide construction management of the contractor, which includes monitoring and documenting daily construction activities, preparing daily field reports, preparing weekly construction meeting agendas, running and minuting weekly construction meetings, and reviewing payment applications, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and invoices.

• Providing weekly summaries of work performed, projections, and commercial updates to the client.

• Provide construction quality assurance oversight of contractor, which includes monitoring and documenting daily construction activities, preparing daily field reports, scheduling and coordinating CQA testing, observing activities are performed in accordance with scope of work and monitoring contractor compliance with their health and safety plan. Technical writing proficiency is a plus.

• Assist in the development of construction plans, including but not limited to bid documents, health and safety plans, and site management plans.

• Developing contract manuals, specifications, and reviewing drawing sets.

• Review documents during construction including submittals, change orders, and technical specifications.

• Provide coordination between multiple parties at-stake, including co-workers on the technical, engineering, and design teams, on-site teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.

• Provide internal cost analysis, contractor cost analysis, and associated projections/forecasting.

• Participate in range of field programs, including the collection, handling, and shipment of samples of various environmental media (e.g., groundwater, soil, sediment, soil vapor, indoor air) in compliance with State and Federal requirements

• Compile field and analytical data and communicate site conditions, observations, and activities.

• Handle equipment, including maintenance, calibration, and operation, in accordance with regulatory requirements; and ability to lift and move approximately 50 pounds without assistance.

• Travel for out-of-town project opportunities.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, or environmental engineering, construction management, or closely related discipline

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the engineering, construction, environmental or technical sciences industries

• Strong attention to detail; accuracy is essential

• Understanding of the construction process and means and methods of construction contractors

• Demonstrate leadership and management of people

• Interpersonal skills and conflict resolution

• Excellent oral and written skills

• Ability to coordinate and anticipate needs

• Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word)

• Understanding of the importance of health & safety as a top priority and an enthusiasm to participate in WSP’s associated programs

• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening

• Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior engineering or construction management experience, internship, or co-operative education experience is a plus, but not required, and will partially dictate work assignments

• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER is required for fieldwork, with preferential consideration for candidates with this training; however, it will be provided if needed

• Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training
