Engineer 4, Software Development & Engineering -- SDET
Provide technical leadership to a team responsible for validating product quality by analyzing and testing the quality of the code base; develop the test strategy and test bed for new Wi-Fi features, using wireless/Wi-Fi protocols including 802.11k, 802.11v, 802.11r, 802.11ax, Passpoint/Hotspot 2.0, ANQP, HAL API, PHY rates, Single Client Harvester, MFP Control, Mesh Backhaul/Mesh Agent, Wi-Fi EAP Parameters, Device Provisioning Protocol; Wi-Fi telemetry, Transmission (Tx) Overflow, Plume cloud integration, Beacon rates evaluation, and BLE enhancement; develop and troubleshoot RDK software using Splunk and Wireshark; perform system analysis using bandmon, lbd processes, dmcli functionality, and vAP stats; work in an Agile development environment; design Wi-Fi and network security features including WPA2, Log Telemetry, cfg, RFC, and encryptions; troubleshoot backend network protocols including Docsis 3.1 and 4.0, FDX, NAT, DHCP, DNS, IPSec, TCP/UDP, Ether Channel, RTCP, QoS, VoIP, SNMP, IGP, BGP, VxLAN, EVPN, HSRP, STP, SSL, SPAN/RSPAN, and networking equipment including routers, switches, WLAN, Controllers, and Gateways; write Bash scripts; focus on writing code that will be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion which will reduce manual testing efforts and increase code quality and consistency; develop and maintain code that validates front-end, middleware and database systems, using the latest tools and programming languages; provide input into various software development lifecycle stages; partner with software engineers to write efficient automation code using coding standards and best practices; report test execution results to senior leadership; repair complex broken automation scripts and performs peer reviews of automation codebase; build new tools to assist in faster test automation and functional testing efforts and innovate on existing automation processes; analyze broken test cases and diagnose and repair to working order; diagnose and repair complex bugs within production code; serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level engineers; provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing the test strategy and test bed for new Wi-Fi features, using wireless/Wi-Fi protocols including 802.11k, 802.11v, 802.11r, 802.11ax, Passpoint/Hotspot 2.0, ANQP, HAL API, PHY rates, Single Client Harvester, MFP Control, Mesh Backhaul/Mesh Agent, Wi-Fi EAP Parameters, Device Provisioning Protocol, Wi-Fi telemetry, Transmission (Tx) Overflow, and Plume cloud integration; troubleshooting RDK software using Splunk and Wireshark; performing system analysis using bandmon, lbd processes, dmcli functionality, and vAP stats; and working in an Agile development environment; of which two (2) years include designing Wi-Fi and network security features including WPA2, Log Telemetry, cfg, RFC, and encryptions; and of which one (1) year includes writing Bash scripts.*
