Provide leadership, strategic direction and support for the sponsored program accounting function. Maintain adequate systems of internal controls, compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure reliability of data, information and financial reporting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Leadership and Strategic Direction: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the sponsored program accounting function, aligning it with the university#39;s overall financial goals and objectives. 2. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and sponsor guidelines (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), NIH Grants Policy Statement), staying abreast of changes in regulations and implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance. 3. Financial Reporting Management: Oversee the management of sponsored programs financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in filing required reports to sponsors. This includes overseeing the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts related to sponsored projects. 4. Billing and Collection Management: Direct the billing and collection processes for sponsored program projects, conducting thorough analysis of key operating metrics to optimize revenue generation and minimize delays in payment. 5. Receivables Management: Manage the collection activities of sponsored program receivables, conducting valuation analysis to ensure accurate reporting of receivables and timely resolution of outstanding balances. 6. Facilities and Administrative Cost Rate Preparation: Lead the preparation of Thomas Jefferson University#39;s proposal for facilities and administrative cost rate, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance with sponsor requirements. 7. Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with auditors for both the annual financial statement audit and OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) Single Audit, facilitating audit processes and ensuring timely submission of required documentation. 8. Audit Report Preparation: Oversee the preparation of all reports related to audits of sponsored programs, including the Schedule of Expenditures on Federal Awards, ensuring accuracy and compliance with audit standards. 9. Enterprise Information Systems Management: Act as the functional leader on the use of enterprise information systems for grant accounting, overseeing processes related to accurate revenue recognition and indirect cost allocations. 10. Stakeholder Interaction: Interact effectively with co-workers, visitors, and other staff members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment consistent with the values of Thomas Jefferson University.

Bachelorrsquo;s degree required with concentration preferred in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related business degree; Masterrsquo;s degree preferred in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related business degree. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, Certified Research Administrator (CRA) preferred. 5+ years of related management experience in a Healthcare/Academic or Research Institute setting 7 to 10+ years of progressive experience in sponsored program accounting, research financial administration, and/or grant accounting Jefferson includes Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, a dynamic university and health system with broad reach across the Delaware Valley.
