Guided by practice group objectives and priorities, the Director, eData Managed Review is responsible for facilitating the delivery of Managed Review legal services. This position works closely with the eData Senior Legal Team and Practice Technology teams to develop and manage operational controls for the systematic delivery of quality managed review services consistent with the legal and business objectives of the eData Practice Group, the firm, and the firm's clients.

The Director, eData Managed Review provides administrative oversight to assigned eData managed review legal staff providing effective coaching, guidance, and training; ensuring managed review legal staff understand and follow practice group procedures and guidelines; ensuring managed review legal staff meet all administrative requirements for managed reviews, and ensuring managed review legal staff meet client service, communication and practice requirements in all areas.

Key responsibilities include:

Works closely with practice group leadership in establishing the vision, goals and direction of eData Managed Review Services

Participates in developing and operationalizing approved Managed Review policies and procedures including roll-out and use of new technology to support managed reviews.

Directs progress of managed review projects, establishes project milestones, and monitors project status.

Manages and tracks project intake and closing of managed reviews, including the data/matter disposition process.

Manages all review resources for load balance and liaises regularly with the eData staffing team including supporting practice group leadership with eData Associate assignment.

Facilitates the development of managed review legal team by providing opportunities and support; provides timely feedback on work product; regularly coaches, evaluates and recognizes staff performance and accomplishments.

Provides training, resources, and oversight of the managed review budget lifecycle for eDiscovery, including assisting eData Associates with developing cost estimates, monitoring and controlling established budgets, and ensuring that practice group billing procedures are properly completed.

Supporting eData Recruiting with the oversight of the eData Attorney program including training and development and year-end evaluation process.

Experience and qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum five years of experience in eDiscovery or document review, with a minimum of two years of experience managing reviews and review staff or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

Superior client service orientation.

Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills and ability to manage and motivate staff.

Results oriented with time management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive self-starter; strategic thinker.

Strong financial acumen

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with partners, lawyers, executives, and all levels of employees across the firm in addition to clients and vendors effectively.

Technical skills including Excel and database experience, document review platforms, and time keeping software. Microsoft Of ice Access, SQL, Relativity, or other industry related technical certification and Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.

For positions in Los Angeles and Orange County, CA, the salary range for this job posting is: $159,739.00 - $255,582.00. For positions in New York, NY and San Francisco and Silicon Valley Ca, the salary range for this job posting is: $173,629.00 - $277,806.00.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
