Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Customer Technical Services Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Customer Technical Services Engineer in the Philadelphia, PA area. The Customer Technical Services Engineer is the primary technical liaison with our customers to resolve claims or quality problems and to ensure that the material supplied meets the customers’ requirements. This position is also responsible for assisting customers with their steel use needs.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Assists customers in using Cleveland-Cliffs products
Makes service calls on assigned customers to investigate and resolve claims or quality problems. Assures that complaints are handled in a fair, timely manner
Coordinates Cleveland-Cliffs actions to respond to steel-related issues with root cause analysis
Communicates detailed customer requirements to Cleveland-Cliffs Steel
Assists Quality Control in developing or revising mill routings to meet specific customer requirements
Reviews customer quality performance data and provides feedback to Cleveland-Cliffs management
Assists Cleveland-Cliffs Sales in promoting and testing of new or improved products
Works with customers on quality improvement or cost reduction projects
Coordinates sample and trial activities at assigned customer plants
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Frequent travel including some overnight
Basic knowledge of steel mill operations and steel-related defects is required
Requires excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and the ability to relate to all levels of the customers; and Cleveland-Cliffs organization
Computer skills required – MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent experience
Experience with Carbon and Stainless Steel
Knowledge of steel use technology (forming, welding, painting, corrosion)
