Reference #: 9306694 Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily. Job Summary: Provide spiritual care with respect, empathy and compassion to patients, families and staff within the large, diverse and busy Einstein Urban Core. Assesses the spiritual, religious and emotional needs of individuals and develops care plans for addressing those needs. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary care team and the chaplaincy team to recommend and directly address patient, visitor and staff needs and to meet individual plan care outcomes. Must be able to communicate, with integrity, in the context of the other person#39;s frame of reference, especially regarding issues of crisis, loss, grief, and other serious adjustments. Shares in the daytime on-call and some weekend/overnight on-call responsibilities. Master#39;s Degree or Equivalent, and 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE, Inc.) required Experience working as a chaplain within a medical setting required. Experience working as a chaplain within an urban Emergency Room and Trauma Center, strongly preferred. Experience and expertise working with a Muslim population. Congregational or other clergy experience a plus. Knowledge of major faith groups, pastoral theology, dynamics of loss and grief, and of crisis theory and intervention. Recognition of being in good standing within faith group. Evidence of ability to learn new computer software programs. If hired after September 2013, Board Certification (or eligibility for). Certification required within 24 months of hire.
