CAT Systems Analyst - 10959

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: JOB DESCRIPTION As a member of Chubb's Corporate Catastrophe Solutions (CCS) team, the individual will be part of our CAT Systems team, supporting our insurance applications and analytics related to catastrophe underwriting, pricing and portfolio management. Working closely with our partners in underwriting and IT, the individual will provide analytic support for model change impact analyses, process/system enhancements and platform deployments. The ideal candidate is someone with a keen interest in applying analytical skills to help solve property insurance underwriting problems.

The position offers great opportunities to engage with a variety of business functions across Chubb, including underwriting, actuarial and catastrophe risk management.

Responsibilities include: * Support a team bringing state-of-the-art solutions to Chubb's underwriting and risk management challenges * Collaborate across Chubb's global underwriting teams to define platform enhancement requirements and prioritize features/functionality * Design and execute detailed validation of system updates and enhancements * Provide CAT System user community with analytic support for questions on catastrophe modeled losses and pricing * Review and improve analytical processes used within catastrophe management * Investigate and respond to system issues as part of cross-functional team * Contribute to system documentation and user training

QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking an analytical self-starter for this position. Ideal candidates for the role will have the following experience and technical skills:

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in statistics and data manipulation
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Excel and SQL. Hands-on experience with either R or Python
  • Insurance industry experience a plus as is interest in pursuing actuarial designation
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organization skills
