Summary:
- The Carpenter at Pennsylvania Hospital under the direction of the Associate Director of Engineering and with the assistance of the Team Lead, performs carpentry work involved in construction and maintaining proper repairs to buildings and their contents. In addition, the Carpenter operates power tools such as lathe, drill press, table saw, circular saw, router, band saw, joiners, and assorted small power tools
Responsibilities:
- Receives repair work requests. Calculates quantity of material needed for repair and requisitions.Measures, saws, fits, sands, nails and screws as necessary to construct or repair partitions, doors, windows, floors, furniture, and so forth.Replaces ceiling tile where needed and repairs loose cove base and floor tile.Constructs items of wood needed by hospital such as stairways, bookcases, cabinets and screens.Maintains cleanliness in work areas and shop.Maintains (repairs or replaces) all door checks as needed.Uses effective interpersonal skills in all interactions.Performs duties and exhibits behaviors consistent with care philosophy of Pennsylvania Hospital.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
Vocational School in Carpentry preferred.
