The Assistant or Associate Director of Graduate Admissions will collaborate closely with the Assistant Vice President and Dean of Enrollment Management, as well as the Vice President of Enrollment Management, to strategically develop, envision, and implement a comprehensive and forward-thinking recruitment strategy for graduate students. This includes creating innovative plans that align with the institution's goals, identifying new opportunities for outreach, and ensuring the effective execution of recruitment initiatives to attract and enroll a diverse and qualified graduate student population.

The Assistant or Associate Director is responsible for identifying, recruiting, advising, and enrolling new graduate and adult students with a primary focus on meeting enrollment targets and goals. The Assistant or Associate Director is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive recruitment plan, building relationships with prospective students, representing La Salle University both on- and off-campus to prospective students and other individuals or organizations involved in the admissions process, conducting file reviews, facilitating one-on-one and group information sessions, and promoting La Salle University in a positive and professional manner, aligning with the institution's mission, vision, and values. Travel for recruitment activities will be required.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan to identify, recruit, advise, and enroll prospective students, serving as their primary contact while counseling them on the enrollment process and graduate opportunities at La Salle University.
  • Create, implement, and manage effective and timely communications, including but not limited to visits, emails, letters, and brochures.
  • Schedule and conduct recruitment related travel, representing the University by attending fairs, visits, and other travel as needed.
  • Review and evaluate graduate applications, ensuring receipt of required information and that all applications are reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Accurately maintain data entry in applicable University databases and software, including but not limited to inquiry entry, application review, and all other pertinent communications with prospective students.
  • Assist with preparation for and staffing of departmental and divisional events, including on- and off-campus recruitment and yield events, to further support student recruitment.
  • Represent La Salle University in a positive and professional manner, upholding its mission, vision, and values during all recruitment and outreach activities.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist other Enrollment Management staff as needed.
  • Manage special projects and/or serve on committees as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

     

of Direct Reports1Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree plus a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience working in higher education or a related field.
  • Demonstrated strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills, with a proactive ability to identify tasks that need to be done and take initiative to complete them without direction.
  • Ability to manage complex admissions responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and contributing to collective goals while maintaining a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via email and interpersonal interactions, delivering clear presentati ns, and building relationships with a diverse range of individuals, including prospective students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships across the campus community, including but not limited to program directors, deans, and faculty, and with community and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to innovate and take initiative with minimal direction.
  • Ability to navigate travel and a valid driver's license to travel for school visits, college fairs, and other recruitment events.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recruitment or admissions experience.
  • Capable of undertaking complex admissions responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Strong customer service orientation and experience in developing recruiting and communication strategies.
  • Previous experience using Technolutions, Inc.'s SLATE Customer Relationship Management (CMR) software.
  • Previous experience using Ellucian's BANNER software system.
  • Proficiency or fluency in Spanish.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours

  • Evening and weekend work will be necessary during peak times.
  • Travel to events, schools, and college fairs is required.
  • Ability to lift, load, and transport admissions materials, displays, and other equipment up to 35 pounds.
