We are seeking to hire a Analytical Chemist II to join our Quality Control team.

JOB SUMMARY

The Analytical Chemist II is an essential part of the lab Quality team and will be expected to perform physical and chemical testing of intermediate and finished products according to written procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Perform routine wet chemical and instrumental analysis on raw materials and finished products within the framework of cGMP guidelines.
  • Perform analyses utilizing Dissolution Apparatus I and II; FTIR; KF; TLC; and HPLC.
  • Perform method transfer and analytical validations.
  • Test pharmaceutical products using standard analytical methods such as assay, related substances, and dissolution.
  • Accurately compiles and reports data.
  • Obtains a fundamental understanding of cGMP's/GLP's.
  • Becomes proficient with a solid working knowledge of Instrumentation i.e HPLC, UV, and USP wet chemical methods.
  • Maintain a neat an accurate notebook in accordance with FDA guidelines.
  • Review and audit the work of their colleagues.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Continue to develop a cGMP awareness by obtaining a more comprehensive understanding of cGMP's, GLP's.
  • Develop a greater understanding of USP methods used in the laboratory.
  • Serves on a laboratory committee.
  • Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.                                                                                                                
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, biochemistry, or related scientific field with 3+ years' of experience as a Chemist or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience highly desired. Proficient in UV and HPLC. GC experience a plus. Good auditing skills a plus.
  • Highly organized individual with attention-to-detail. Able to work in a team environment,
  • Cooperative and Flexible attitude. Ability to train others.
  • Familiarity with good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel and business related application packages, such as Empower or similar software, plus the ability to learn company used applications. 
  • Electronic Quality Management System experience is desired.
