Entity: Clinical Care Associates (CCA) - Penn Primary Care (PPC) and Penn Specialty Practices (PSP) of Penn Medicine Medical Group (PMMG)

Department: Otorhinolaryngology

Location: Perelman Center, 3400 Civic Center Blvd, Philadelphia

Hours: Full-Time

Summary:

  • Department of Otorhinolaryngology under the direction of the Manager Instrument/Sterile Processing, the incumbent supports the decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing of incoming clinical instrumentation, sterilization or high-level disinfection of flexible/rigid endoscopes and equipment. The incumbent is a vital member of the team and must adhere to all standards of practice, independently complete daily assignments, and dispatch instruments and equipment as needed. The incumbent will serve as a resource to the team and will be responsible for personal and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Operations: Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, packages, and sterilizes surgical instrumentation, and identifies those in need of repair. Sterilization or High-level disinfection of flexible/rigid endoscopes Knowledgeable about all disinfectants and chemical germicides Able to reference MSDS. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures of emergencies for steam sterilization machines Follows established priority lists and requests for required instruments. Makes professional use of downtime. Seeks supervision when appropriate. Offers feedback in the spirit of helpfulness. HIPPA Compliance JACHO Compliance Maintain required certifications throughout duration of employment.

Credentials:

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Required)

  • Certification as a Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor or Certified Endoscope Reprocessor, required within 18 months of employment.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

  • 0-2 years Instrument processing experience (Required)
