Philadelphia Youth Network is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time 21st Century Site Security Officer that ensures the safety and welfare of students, faculty, and staff, as well as school grounds. The Site Security Officer will work with the OST Program Director, Site Coordinator, and Office of School Safety and school administrators to identify procedures that will help create a campus environment that is safe, supportive, and conducive to learning

Pay Rate: $16.00hr

Hours: up to 15 hours a week

Site Security will work in one of the following Middle Schools:

• Thomas K Finletter Middle School
• Baldi Middle School
• Aloysius Fitzpatrick Middle School

• Harding Middle School

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to attend occasional weekend and/or evening trainings
• Must be able to complete and pass physical examination
• Must be able to attend and complete CPR 1st Aide training
• Must be able to successfully pass background checks (PA State Criminal, PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse, U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry, and F.B.I. fingerprinting)

What you'll do:

• Provide security for OST programming locations by patrolling school grounds and perimeters on foot and reports unsafe conditions to school administrator and site coordinator
• Oversee building access by monitoring the entrances and visitors into after-school program site
• Build positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff, and the surrounding community to establish a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Exhibit ethical and professional behavior; ensures that students are always treated with dignity and respect
• Respond and investigate incidents and disturbances with efficiency; defuses and de-escalates misconduct or inappropriate student behavior
• Complete, organizes and submits incident reports in accordance with program and school procedures

Education, Experience & Skills Required:

• High school diploma/GED
• Candidates must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment
• Successful completion of a training program provided by Philadelphia Youth Network is a requirement for employment
• Security experience preferred
• Successfully passing background checks (PA State Criminal, PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse, U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry, and F.B.I. fingerprinting
