Job Description:
To plan, organize, and implement a grade level appropriate
instructional program in a middle school ELA/Writing classroom that guides and
encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Responsibilities and Duties:
? Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
? Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities.
? Create a positive educational climate for students.
? Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
? Create standard based lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the
year.
? Maintain grade books in Power School that are updated regularly.
? Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary
procedures.
? Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
? Assist with coverage of other classes as needed.
? Assist with arrivals and dismissal of students.
? Communicate with parents/guardians.
? Collaborate with other colleagues.
? Selects books, instructional aids and supplies that aid in the teaching of the
curriculum.
? Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, Principal or
his/her designee.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's Degree or higher.
? One or more years of teaching experience.
? Communication skills and interpersonal skills preferred.
? PA Certification.
