Neshoba County General Hospital-Nursing Home Registered Nurse Emergency Department PRN in Philadelphia, Mississippi
Neshoba General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED) team. The RN in the Emergency Department will play a critical role in providing rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization of patients presenting with a wide range of medical emergencies. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid and accurate assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Department, including triage and initial interventions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by physicians, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor patient vital signs, response to treatment, and overall condition, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing education and support throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards, including infection control protocols and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing education, training, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced staff members and support staff as needed.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Current unrestricted Mississippi RN license.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in an Emergency Department or critical care setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
