General Summary:
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is a professional who assumes responsibility for patient care for ages ranging from neonate to geriatric during a designated time frame. The FNP is accountable to the Clinic Practice Manager, Medical Providers, and Hospital Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care across a wide age range, from neonate to geriatric
- Assess, diagnose, and treat medical conditions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and treatment plans
- Perform procedures and treatments as required
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program leading to a master's degree and/or meets the Advanced Nursing Practice requirements set forth by the Mississippi Board of Nursing or the Mississippi Medical Licensure Board
- Appropriate certification and degree from a United States Institution of Higher Education
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Mississippi prior to beginning employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Computer literacy
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility to work in other clinic settings as needed
