Preparing and packaging

Packers prepare and package goods for storage or shipment.

This includes checking that all items are present, wrapping them securely, and labeling them appropriately.

• Assembling orders

  Packers assemble daily orders by shipping location or other categories. They consider the shipping location to organize products and make the delivery truck driver's route easier.

• Inspecting

• Packers inspect packages to ensure they are not damaged and that shipping containers meet shipping regulations.

• Recording

• Packers keep records of packages, including delivery notes and invoices. They also fill out packing and order forms with the relevant shipping information.

• Following safe practices

• Packers learn lifting techniques and other work safe practices to reduce the risk of injury.

• Communicating

• Packers work with other elements of the distribution chain and need excellent communication skills. They use these skills to streamline the working process and report to senior leadership
