Salary : £34,800, 1,500 Sign on Bonus, 10% Annual Bonus, Share Scheme, Pension, Flexible working, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)

Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.
The Graduate Program:
This will be a bespoke program to develop these key skills in the niche (but rapidly growing) Electrification product’s segment. The program will involve two years of rotations with partners in business functions such as Engineering, Machine Development, Product Support and Data analysis, with ¼ of each year spent shadowing and assisting the field Follow Team. This program will also require the performance of a series of formal qualifying training, a allowing the candidate to safely work on Hazardous Voltage systems (up to 1500V) culminating in a final practical exam at the end of the program and the award of the Level 3 Hazardous Voltage “Senior Authorised Person” qualification.
You will support complex technical product problem resolutions of advanced power products (batteries, fuel cells, chargers, energy storage systems, and electric drives) to ensure customers receive the product performance, reliability, durability, and availability expected as part of the Cat brand promise.
You will be responsible for customer uptime by minimising product downtime, resolving issues quickly, and keeping customers happy by providing great customer experiences, working with a wide variety of applications including Resource Industries, Construction Industries, Electric Power, Oil and Gas, and Marine.
The roles key responsibilities can be divided into three key areas:
Field Follow – The evaluation of Caterpillar owned assets, leant to prospective customers for the purpose of design validation, testing and feedback
Product Support – The Rework, Investigation and resolution of high priority issues affecting our product and customers
Engineering Support – The provision of Hand’s on expertise in the build of new and developing prototype products and the feedback of knowledge gained through the above two actions, to improve design’s throughout the development cycle.
By the end of the graduate program, you will have knowledge relating to:
Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and repurpose of electrification product(s).
Perform live electrical (Live Work) on batteries.
Support dealer personnel in troubleshooting issues, answering technical inquiries, and training personnel.
Communicate site advanced power product issues, uptime status, and hour accumulation.
Facilitate the return of failed parts to the factory for further analysis.
CPI support: Identify, testing, data collection, and implementation of ICA’s/PCA’s.
Perform failure analysis where needed.
Assist dealers with understanding and implementation of service publications, TIB, service magazines, and service letters.
Manage spare parts, tools, and Personal Protection Equipment on site.
Support regional industry shows, displays, and proving ground events as needed.
Keep up-to-date on new technologies and drive continuous improvement to established techniques.

In addition, this role requires the candidate to be willing to travel up to 50% of the working year internationally, but typically within the Europe Africa & Middle East (EAME) region.
Applicants should have achieved or be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 and be studying for a degree in an Engineering related discipline, ideally one of the following:
Mechanical Engineering (Including any sub-specialism of)
Electrical Engineering
Electronic Engineering/Computer Science
Power Engineering
A driving license would be beneficial in this role

Stage two - Assessment Centre: The Assessment Centre Day will look at a range of behaviours such as teamwork, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving. We aim to make these days fun, inclusive and as relaxed as possible.
Stage three – Offer: After the Assessment Centre, the Caterpillar team will review the feedback and extend offers to our preferred candidates, we aim to do this as quickly as possible. Graduates will start on 8th September 2025. We look forward to receiving your application to join Caterpillar!
