Job Description

Our Finance Teams: Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. Weare based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive,productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK.

The Team: You will be part of the Accounts Payable team. We are responsible for the payment of allinvoices for News UK and Wireless paying for all goods and services. This is a very busy rolerequiring someone who is personable, used to working in a fast paced environment and pridesthemselves on attention to detail and accuracy at all times. The team are enthusiastic, motivated anda collaborative group of people, sociable with a strong team spirit.

Day to day you will:

  • Day to day team management, including dealing with team queries

  • Set performance objectives and review monthly

  • Weekly catch ups

  • Team development

  • Work closely with the Tax, Compliance and Corporate reporting teams to ensure HMRC, NewsCorp, Audit and Sox compliance

  • Month end reporting including dashboards

  • Management of high risk accounts and Direct Debits

  • Reconciliation of suspense accounts and proactive discussions with the business

  • Review of journals and manual payment requests

  • Management of IR35 Supplier accounts

  • Check and oversee vendor change reports

  • Review of payment proposals and collation of urgent adhoc payments

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of Accounts Payable processes.

  • Full involvement in any Process and System initiatives identified related to Accounts Payable Procedures

What we are looking for from you:

  • Proven management skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of SAP

  • Excellent understanding of Accounts Payable practises and procedures

  • Strong excel skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Efficient, hardworking and organised with the ability to multitask

  • Able to evidence excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage workload to strict deadlines

  • Multiskilled to cover Contributions & Expenses Supervisor

  • We use SAP, VIM & OCR previous experience of using these systems would be useful but not essential
