SUMMARY
Supervises manufacturing of injection parts and assembly processes on floor. Schedules work and troubleshoots any abnormalities. Builds quality parts at least cost. Communicates effectively for overall morale of team members and understanding of producing quality parts and meets delivery requirements by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directs the activities of a recognized manufacturing department.
Operates from a wide scope of responsibility to maintain production schedules and to ensure quality standards are adhered to by group.
Plans work, makes assignments and trains new employees.
Administers company policies for assigned department.
Assesses and troubleshoots machine problems.
Communicates with all levels of management, including Japanese staff.
Presents materials/information to groups.
Conducts root cause analysis of customer problems and defect reduction.
Documents departmental productivity and defects, and takes corrective action when needed.
Motivates employees and resolves conflict.
Evaluates employees- performance.
Aids in continuous improvement processes.
Oversees trials of new parts.
Assists manager as necessary to accomplish all goals and missions of the department.
Coaches and counsels team members on various aspects of their duties.
Issues corrective action (discipline) to employees as appropriate.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Hazardous material handling certifications required for assigned duties including but not limited to: Hazardous waste operations and emergency response, Respirator Training and Fit Testing, Chromium (VI) awareness training, Hexavalent Chromium awareness training and any other training required by regulation.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, to all levels of management.
