Expected Length of Internship: Internship tentative dates 1/1/2025 - 12/31/2025. The length of this internship is one year. We are looking for a motivated and team-oriented Service Desk Intern to join our IT team. This internship will provide hands-on experience in handling customer inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting various IT functions. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about IT, eager to learn, and possess strong problem-solving skills. As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn't interfere with the essential functions of the position. Education/Experience: Must have a high school diploma at a minimum; enrollment in continuing education a plus. First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their University. Graduate students also considered. Previous internship or work experience is a plus. Required Skills/Competencies: Accountability - Ownership of responsibilities as assigned. Clear communication at all times with supervisor. Ability to speak up when assistance is needed on tasks, or to share an improvement idea. Dependability and follow through are essential. Communication - Ability to communicate with team members, supervisor, other associates in a professional way, both written and verbal. Collaboration - Ability to work as an effective team member in various settings (in person, in office, remote, hybrid). Time Management - Ability to manage time well, complete requests, and proactively share about the status of their work with a supervisor. Ability to listen, ask questions and seek clarity if/when needed on tasks. Learning and Flexibility - Desire to learn more about different facets of IT and have the willingness to try different roles and tasks as part of the rotational program. Basic Internship Scope (Project): Assist in providing first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or chat. Help in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Document and track all support requests and follow up to ensure resolution. Escalate complex problems to senior IT staff and follow up on the progress. Participate in the setup and deployment of new hardware and software for users. Maintain and update IT support documentation and knowledge base articles. Assist in user account management, including password resets and access permissions. Gain experience in common IT service management (ITSM) tools and practices. Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.
