The Senior Manager – Business Development role (known internally as Senior Manager – Strategy ) will be responsible for the leadership, development, and implementation of assigned growth opportunities supporting the Earthmoving business. This role will interface directly with leadership across the organization and Enterprise to help execute the Earthmoving Division growth strategy.
Caterpillar's Earthmoving Division (part of the Construction Industries Segment) is responsible for the worldwide design, manufacturing and support responsibility for medium tractor products, motor graders, medium wheel loaders, paving products, and SEM-branded product lines.
What You’ll Do
Support leadership in creating a strategy to identify, develop, and execute growth opportunities.
Accountable for the development, evaluation, and execution of potential opportunities and leading the associated cross-functional efforts.
Lead analysis of market opportunities, market and customer development, market introduction, and initial development and production of new products or services.
Works closely with business partners to define business opportunities and strategic priorities.
Provides recommended solutions. Works with senior consultants / managers to develop and deliver business insights as a lead for the business.

Consulting: Experience providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; Works to identify alternative solutions and associated pro's and con's.
Stakeholder Management : Proven ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and implement various tasks to engage with them.
Planning: Demonstrates effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Bachelor’s degree within Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other related fields.
Extensive financial experience, competitive analysis, or P&L ownership within a large and/or multinational corporation.
Excellent business acumen, business partnership, and leadership skills.
Ability to gather large amounts of data/facts and leverage technology to distill into clear message.
Demonstrates initiative, sound business judgement, effective organization skills, and accountability in their work.
Ability to resolve issues independently.

Work location: Peoria, IL
Domestic relocation assistance is available
Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days per week of onsite, in-office work
Summary Pay Range:
$169,320.00 - $253,920.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
