Job Summary:

Caterpillar is seeking a Manager Site Performance to work from either Peoria, IL or Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will report to the Sales Manager and will be primarily responsible for managing on-site technology and operational support for the customer solutions team. As a member of the CAT Solutions and Services Division team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:

  • Support the Job Site Solutions Global Commercial Team by:

  • Analyzing customer sites to determine production and maintenance improvement opportunities

  • Development of fleet models and machine recommendations to meet customers site requirements

  • Creating total cost of ownership (TCO) models

  • Collaborate with commercial managers to develop solutions to meet customers goals.

  • Support the achievement of business’ total contract value targets.

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of staff engaged in technical analysis and performance optimization.

  • Develop and manage sales support in alignment with long and short-term sales strategies; establishing training programs for commercial team.

  • Upskill larger JSS team through training, mentoring, and best practice sharing in the knowledge and execution of site optimization, machine selection, and machine performance across all Caterpillar product lines.

  • Fosters strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments, open communication, and on-going feedback/improvement.

  • Advises and leads others on creating customer focused environments in various scenarios.

  • Anticipates customer needs, focusing efforts to proactively meet needs and exceed customer expectations.

  • Communicates and models the criticality of customer focus as an organizational strategy, and understanding of their wants, needs, and expectations

Value Selling : Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs. Level Extensive Experience:

  • Uses 'value selling' techniques to successfully engage customers.

  • Upskills and mentors others to effective deliver value selling messaging to support business goals.

  • Researches the customer's industry and organization before attempting sales calls.

  • Discusses issues and considerations regarding current 'value selling' practices

  • Develops improved methods and abilities to increase impact of “value selling” message to customers.

  • Quantifies proposed costs, benefits and value in customer terms.

Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. Level Extensive Experience:

  • Provides prompt and effective responses to client requests and interactions.

  • Monitors client satisfaction levels on a regular basis.

  • Alerts own team to problems in client satisfaction.

  • Differentiates the roles and responsibilities in a business relationship.

  • Works with clients to address critical issues and resolve major problems

  • Works to develop rapport with clients to become a trusted advisor to move from transactional business to solutions selling.

  • Creates opportunities to educate support teams on client priorities.

Technical Excellence : Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Level Extensive Experience:

  • Advises others on the assessment and provision of all technical solutions.

  • Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.

  • Mentors others to enhance their technical competence and its application to achieve more effective technical solutions.

  • Coaches others in promoting, defining, analyzing, and providing superior technical solutions to business problems.

  • Provides effective solutions to moderate technical challenges through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.

  • Assumes accountability for personal technical performance and holds others responsible for theirs.

The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL
