Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army Logistics Management Specialist in Pentagon, Virginia

Summary About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist, responsible for directing and coordinating on a worldwide basis, the development, implementation and execution of Department of the Army logistics policies, regulations and procedures for total force readiness, located in Arlington, VA. Responsibilities Analyzes logistics data contained within agency systems/programs. Responds to issues and inquiries relative to Army Repair Cycle Float Program, Forward Repair Activity/Specialized Repair Activity, Quality Deficiencies Report, OIB Facility Standardization, and OIB congressional reporting support. Coordinates maintenance concepts, policies and procedures with other diverse functional areas such as supply, transportation, financial management, engineering, storage and the acquisition community to support the Army logistics maintenance plan Represents Army G4 at high level meetings, advisory groups, special task forces and committees. Participates in the development of long-range Army maintenance and logistic goals and objectives. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating the implementation of Organic Industrial Base logistics policies and procedures for total force readiness; integrating various logistical functions, such as: supply, transportation, automation, financial management and procurement into maintenance concepts and/or policies and procedures; preparing both written and oral presentations, information briefings and/or reports; and maintaining effective relationships with customers, information sources and/or project team members. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Maintenance Planning and Management Oral Communication Technical Competence Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
