Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Pentagon, Virginia

Summary This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.The incumbent will serve as a senior staff action officer and adviser providing guidance on policy, procedures, technology systems, and federal programs in support of the Joint Staff records content operations and programs. Responsibilities As a INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the Joint Staff point of contact for assigned information management program area. Serves as a senior staff action officer and adviser providing guidance on information management policy and procedures. Develops strategies for achieving information management goals and objectives for assigned program area. Analyzes and evaluates new approaches and methodologies proposed by the academic, industrial, defense and other government agencies for possible inclusion in Joint Staff information management plans and programs. Reviews proposals involving federal or DOD and military services guidelines. Provides functional advice, guidance, and assistance for the coordination of projects and development/maintenance of information management systems to enhance operations for the assigned area of responsibility. Produces reports and visualizations from data analytics to facilitate decision-making process. Determines technology solutions to solve business problems and champion organizational change. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: Experience with Information Management, Content Management, and Knowledge Management. Using analytical methods regarding information management process changes, technological and business improvements, and leveraging industry trends to implement change. Experience with communication techniques and methods in order to convey complex and technical information both verbally and in writing, provide technical findings in briefings and meetings. Experience applying customer service techniques and interpersonal skills required in order to interact effectively in a customer service or oversight role with DOD and combatant commands' senior officials, supervisors, co-workers, contract representatives, and the public. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
