Summary About the Position: Serve as a principal administrative assistant to the Office, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8 (ODCS, G-8). Responsible for the direction and performance of all administrative support functions and associated managerial tasks within the ODCS, G-8's staff. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining administrative duties such as scheduling of appointments, meetings, conferences speaking engagements, and other commitments for senior executive staff; identifying administrative areas needing further policy guidance or interpretation; making changes and adjustments as necessary to meet unexpected high-priority demands; assisting with maximizing automation resources for optimum effectiveness of office and duties; coordinating travel arrangement for senior staff. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Organizational Awareness Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
