Position Purpose:

Join our team to plan, develop, and implement engaging therapeutic recreational activities for participants, including those with Alzheimer's and related dementia. Be a part of a dedicated team, drive quality improvement, and ensure exceptional care within the recreation department.

What You Will Do:

• Lead, mentor, and support recreation assistants and staff to ensure high-quality recreational therapy services.

• Plan and deliver individual and group activities that enhance cognitive, physical, and social well-being, including arts, exercise, outings, and special events.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess and address the therapeutic needs of participants.

• Oversee daily operations of the recreation department, including staff assignments, budgets, and equipment needs.

• Maintain accurate documentation, track participant progress, and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Promote a warm, caring environment while fostering teamwork across departments.

Minimal Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or related field; NCCAP Activity Professionals Certification preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in therapeutic recreation with a geriatric population.

• Experience working with elderly or frail individuals.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple tasks.
