COMMERCIAL CARPENTER

Qualified candidates should have no less than five years’ recent carpentry experience with emphasis on concrete formwork, both manufactured and stick build type, and background on commercial construction project worksites, preferably with a general contractor. Knowledge of rough/form, rough frame, interior build-out, blocking, and hardware installation. Should be able to handle and operate various carpentry power tools safely. The ability to read commercial blueprints is a plus but not required. Duties will be but not limited to framing decks and walking platforms, must be able to cut stair stringers, installing and breaking manufactured as well as stick build forms and form systems (experience in finishing concrete a plus), installing blocking during interior metal frame stage and hanging accessories related to the blocking specs, install commercial door frames-doors and hardware and other duties as assigned by supervisors. Candidates will work in various weather conditions and elevations throughout the structure. Candidates may also be required to climb (stairs/ladders), work in a squatting or kneeling position, and be able to carry required tools and materials to complete assigned work.

Working as a craft worker requires the following physical and mental abilities:

Vision Acuity Requirements:

Candidates must have good visual acuity to detect possible safety hazards and perform details of work routine and be able to read within arm's length to permit the operation of switches or to adjust knobs on tools and equipment. Candidates are required to have a clean driving record.

Craft workers will be exposed to the following work environments and conditions :

Work activities both inside buildings and out of doors

Sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level

Hazards, including physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts
