THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will perform environmental evaluations and enforcement in accordance with Chapter 105 regulations throughout the state, while also assisting in environmental assessments related to flood protection and stream enhancement projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting literature reviews and field investigations to evaluate site conditions, with an emphasis on aquatic resources, habitats, and ecological characteristics within project locations. The role involves identifying and mapping wetlands in compliance with established jurisdictional guidelines. You will compile comprehensive environmental reports detailing existing conditions and potential impacts associated with proposed dam projects and flood protection measures. Furthermore, you will propose alternatives aimed at mitigating adverse environmental effects linked to these initiatives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of professional environmental protection experience; and a bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional environmental protection experience.
Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
