DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Senior Investment Accountant serves as a technical investment accounting specialist, subject matter expert and supervisor, who reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The position oversees the wholistic assessment of risk exposure within the SERS Office of Financial Management; documentation of the current internal control environment; review, updating of, and production of process documentation over the controls in place; and testing of controls of varying complexity to ensure they are operating effectively.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week.
A work schedule beginning and ending between 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, inclusive, with a half-hour or one-hour meal period will be considered, dependent on operational requirements. The requested schedule may not start later than 8:30 AM or end prior to 4:00 PM.
Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time with occasional onsite visits as needed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania; otherwise, you must work onsite at the work location specified in this job posting.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

This position is located in Dauphin County, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. SERS will not pay for relocation, housing, or travel expenses. All applicants must be willing to work in and commute to the Harrisburg, PA location when on-site work is required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Investment Accountant;or
Five years of professional accounting or auditing experience which includes two years of professional investment accounting or investment auditing experience, and a bachelor’s degree supplemented by eighteen credits in accounting;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of professional investment accounting or investment auditing experience, and a bachelor’s degree supplemented by eighteen credits in accounting.
