Job Summary:

Vail Resorts Hospitality IT is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join the team! The scope of this role includes leading cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement large scale enhancement projects and new system implementations. Working independently and leading through influence, this individual will combine their business acumen and strategic thinking to execute complex projects supporting the diverse lines of business within the Vail Resorts Hospitality organization. These lines of business include lodging, transportation, golf course and spa operations, as well as Vail Signature Clubs.

To be successful in this role, you will need to build collaborative relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders to drive outcomes, make actionable recommendations, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. This role routinely requires you to navigate ambiguity and complex issues to develop well thought out recommendations that move projects forward. Additionally, you will need the ability to flex between various tasks and levels of detail, from scheduling and facilitating meetings to providing status updates to senior or executive leaders.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and communications skills and will quickly establish themselves as a trusted strategic partner within the Hospitality IT Team and with leaders.

Job Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Own all aspects of Information Technology project execution, from inception to completion. This includes leading the creation, finalization, and socialization of standard project documents such as; project charters, project plans, timelines, budgets, RAID logs, RACI charts, and more.

  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, deliverables, and plans in alignment with project objectives.

  • Plan, schedule, and manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables using the Hospitality IT Teams standard template library.

  • Build and foster collaboration among cross-functional teams and external partners (vendors) to ensure project milestones are achieved on time, with quality, and within budget.

  • Monitor and report on progress of projects to all stakeholders, at varying levels of responsibility; consistently be ‘out front’ on project issues and risks.

  • Manage project resources, including personnel and necessary equipment (such as payment devices)

  • Strive to continuously improve upon standard project processes and templates by collaborating with team members and stakeholders.

  • Provide weekly status updates on all in-flight projects, providing actual vs. target % complete, identifying risks and/or roadblocks, and providing executive summaries as needed.

  • Be comfortable with providing and receiving constructive feedback and suggestions.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects, enhancements, and issues, concurrently.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in IT project management, computer science, information technology management OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of demonstrated IT project management experience.

  • PMI-PMP or CAPM Certification

  • Strong familiarity with SDLC and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum).

  • Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills, and the ability to comfortably communicate at all levels of the organization – from Senior/Executive leadership to front line team members.

  • Keen attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high quality project documentation and deliverables.

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, comfortable with shifting priorities.

Preferred

  • IT Project Management experience in outdoor industry or hospitality-related fields (lodging, transportation, golf, spas, etc).

  • Prior PMS or CRS application experience (Ex: IQware, Oracle, Agilysys, Inntopia, SynXis, or similar).

  • Exposure to a wide variety of database and network technologies.

  • Experience using Ivanti, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, IT Connect, PowerPoint, MS Office.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $89,100 - $99,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
