THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) Camp Hill is seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic, compassionate, and caring individual for the position of Registered Nurse Supervisor. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, your duties will be both clinical and administrative. You will be responsible for ensuring that adequate coverage is provided on all shifts. Duties will include approving or disapproving leave requests, scheduling personnel, and authorizing overtime for all clinical personnel. You will be reviewing and evaluating the educational and training needs for subordinates, planning and conducting training, and arranging for further education and training to enhance nursing skills. As a working supervisor, responsibilities will include assisting the clinical staff in performing duties during peak workload periods and absences of personnel. This position carries out all other general and nursing related duties for which certifiable training and licensure has been received. You will have the opportunity to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the nursing services provided to inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Hours of work during training are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Hours of work after training are 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
You will alternate work schedules, including working every other weekend.
May change based on operational needs.
Overtime work is as needed.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $98,311.00(before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years as a Registered Nurse (commonwealth title); or
Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
Special Requirements:
This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaived for this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
