THE POSITION

The Bureau of Commonwealth Payroll Operations is seeking 2 accountants for a unique role in the Pay Processing Division. BCPO is a dynamic bureau that is constantly evolving and implementing process improvements to accommodate the needs of a complex complement of employees. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing payroll records to create customized financial and payroll accounting reports that offer analysis into targeted query areas. This functionality covers internal reviews to ensure legal and organizational compliance. You will have the opportunity to communicate with client agencies, the HRSC, and employees to ensure effective data extraction results. Work includes investigating and correcting errors during SAP Payroll Processing; reviewing returned payroll direct deposits and initiating corrective actions; preparing advancement requests; as well as reviewing or initiating requests for the stop payment of payroll direct deposits and check pulls. This position requires the ability to prioritize work and manage time efficiently as many tasks are time sensitive. You may be asked by your supervisor to take on special projects or assignments related to payroll related activity, or other related duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. You must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Accountant 1;or
Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting;or
Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
