DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will provide maintenance to the buildings and grounds at the Harrisburg Military Post. This will include preventative maintenance, carpentry, plumbing and electrical repair, grounds keeping and custodial services. You will use power tools, paint supplies, snow removal equipment, and contact vendors for major emergency repairs. This role is responsible for a wide-range of tasks requiring the ability to determine work methods and proper procedures to employ, while effectively prioritizing assigned work.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Any formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
Experience in commercial carpentry
Experience working in the electrical trade field
Experience in the plumbing trade
Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels
Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats and instantaneous water heaters
Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC), as it relates to repairs of buildings
Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
