DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Investment Accountant on our Investment Reporting team serves as a technical investment accounting specialist, subject matter expert and supervisor. The position works with staff to timely and accurately analyze, classify, report and reconcile all investment transactions and fair values for the diversified, multi-billion-dollar, Defined Benefit Plan portfolio. This position coordinates and works closely with the custodian, sub-custodian, SERS-Investment Office, and investment consultants.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week.

  • A work schedule beginning and ending between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, inclusive, with a half-hour or one-hour meal period will be considered, dependent on operational requirements. The requested schedule may not end prior to 4:00 PM.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time with occasional onsite visits as needed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection; otherwise, you must work on-site at the work location specified in this job posting.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  • Financial Disclosure: The individual appointed to this position will be required to disclose financial information consistent with provisions of the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act and the Governor’s Code of Conduct.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of professional accounting or auditing experience which includes one year of professional investment accounting or investment auditing experience, and a bachelor's degree supplemented by eighteen credits in accounting;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of professional investment accounting or investment auditing experience, and a bachelor's degree supplemented by eighteen credits in accounting.

  • You must be proficient in decision making and problem solving.

  • You must possess satisfactory job knowledge and technical skills.

  • You must demonstrate satisfactory initiative and motivation.

  • You must be proficient in supervision and leading.
