THE POSITION
Are you a detail-oriented professional who excels in the field of information technology (IT)? The Office of Administration, Infrastructure and Economic Development (IED) Delivery Center, Technology Services Office (TSO), IT Coordinator Division, is seeking an ambitious Information Technology Generalist Administrator 1 to join our team and share your knowledge and skills. This position gives you the opportunity to plan, organize, and direct all information technology (IT) activities for Engineering District 8-0. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will function as the District IT Coordinator between all internal district divisions, counties, maintenance districts, IED Delivery Center Technical Services Office (TSO), and the other engineering districts across the state. Work includes providing advanced technical support for IT operations and improvements within the district as well as providing management and leadership to the district IT unit which supports the needs of district and county staff and other remote PennDOT, DCED, and PEMA offices. You will be responsible for managing work for various areas of IT including applications and business process development, database administration, reporting, networking, mobile device management, client workstation support, printer support, and related administration services. You will have the opportunity to showcase your skillset as you serve as the primary district IT resource as you support major incidents, address emergency issues, and/or site outages that may occur outside of normal business hours. Additional responsibilities include:
Creating performance standards for staff
Promoting career development
Developing an annual technology plan and IT budget
Soliciting requests from program areas through surveys, meetings, and/or unit reviews to identify data, hardware, and software needs
Maintaining an accurate inventory of all IT hardware
Coordinating and monitoring vendor and consultant compliance for all contracted IT services
Instructing users on proper procedures, IT policies, and proper use of IT hardware and software

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Information Technology Generalist 2, Applications Developer 2, Database Analyst, Information Security Specialist 1, or Network Specialist 2; or
Five years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services; or
Three years of information technology experience that includes two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
One year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
