THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill is seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in building maintenance and repair to join our team as a Corrections Maintenance Foreman. In this position, you will oversee inmate work crews in the performance of various maintenance, repair, construction, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks in and around the facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman, you will oversee inmate work crews as they complete routine construction and maintenance work assignments in and around the facility. Work assignments include lawn care, snow removal, janitorial duties, and other general maintenance tasks. You will be responsible for planning and assigning daily inmate schedules and inspecting completed work assignments. You will also issue and inventory all materials and tools used to complete work. This position gives you the opportunity to perform or assist with semi-skilled and skilled journey-level work in one or more trades at the facility, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, refrigeration, masonry, steam-fitting, and welding.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of Basic Training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
