THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Rockview is actively seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in manufacturing, production, and product processing to join our team as a Corrections General Industries Factory Supervisor. This role also involves teaching and mentoring inmates in our correctional facility. If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a fast-paced public agency, we want to hear from you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising staff in various industries such as manufacturing or production work at SCI Rockview. You will oversee Corrections General Industries Factory Forepersons and other factory staff. You will also oversee on-the-job training provided to inmates in production or plant work. Other duties include reviewing supply and equipment requisitions, maintaining work records, complying with industry standards, and ensuring the custody of equipment and materials. This position requires strong supervisory skills and knowledge of various industries and their standards, as well as the ability to enforce security and custody regulations in all work areas.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $54,413.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson (commonwealth title);or

  • Four years of experience in the production of goods or services, which includes one year of lead work experience;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of lead work experience in the production of goods or services.

    Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
