DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will help to coordinate work assignments for inmates and provide vocational and technical training. Additionally, you will conduct program orientations for new inmates and interview them to gather information about their employment history, interests, and needs. Using this information, you will review case files and other reports to determine the most appropriate job placement for each inmate. You will also provide training to inmate workers' supervisors on systems related to inmate payroll and compensation, and ensure compliance with agency standards and regulations. Furthermore, you will offer employment-related counseling to inmates to assist with their job adjustment and address any questions they may have.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5-hour work week)

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of clerical experience; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
