DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As the Clerical Supervisor 2 of the Scranton Vital Records Office, you will be charged with maintaining records of Pennsylvania births and deaths and issuing certified copies. This position is responsible for advising customers in respect to correcting errors on the record and monitoring documents for fraud protection. In addition, you will provide guidance by supervising, training, and counseling Clerical Assistants.
Within this role, you will serve as a local registrar for the registration of deaths and fetal deaths. Duties also include but are not limited to providing advice and counseling on a myriad of death registration issues and performing public relations activities by interacting with funeral directors. You will function as a back-up to the Clerical Assistants by providing in-person counter service to funeral directors and consumers seeking death records needed for funeral arrangements, insurance, estate settlements, and more.
This professional is responsible for fiscal oversight of the Scranton Vital Records Office, which includes managing all incoming revenue and reconciling daily, ensuring daily deposit of revenue into the appropriate funding streams, and reconciling bank statements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1; or
One year as a Clerical Assistant 3; or
Two years of as a Clerical Assistant 2; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
