THE POSITION
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide support to the revenue office. Through working with our staff, you support our mission to provide superior care to our residents which includes both veterans and their spouses.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the revenue office at the Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home. This position will also process medical insurance billings, as well as receive and posts cash or check payments from residents, family and third parties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours weekly.
Work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
Graduation from high school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
Experience with medical billing including Medicare and Medicaid.
Proficient with Excel spreadsheets.
Legal Requirements:
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act:
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment may require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
