DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Your main duty in this position is to provide training, leadership, and organization for a team of accreditation officers within the Laboratory Accreditation Program. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining training programs to enhance the proficiency and professional skills of laboratory personnel. Additionally, you will conduct research to improve laboratory methods and oversee quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis. Implementing and monitoring safety, quality assurance, and quality control practices to meet laboratory standards will also be part of your role, along with conducting on-site assessments of applicant laboratories.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Chemist 2;or
Two years of professional chemical analytical experience, and a bachelor’s degree that includes 30 credits in chemistry or biochemistry;or
One year of professional chemical analytical experience, and a graduate degree in chemistry.
Condition of Employment:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
