THE POSITION
The Department of Environmental Protection is seeking qualified candidates with experience in underground anthracite coal mining. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will guarantee adherence to the Anthracite Coal Mining Laws. It encompasses offering support to the public and delivering safety recommendations to the mining sector. The gathered information will be entered into the Department of Environmental Protection's electronic data system to maintain the integrity and precision of the data.
You will be resposnible for upholding safety standards and enforcing regulations related to the installation and functioning of electrical equipment. Additionally, thorough inspections of electrical apparatus will be conducted across anthracite deep coal mines, preparation facilities, and storage areas. These inspections are essential for mitigating the risks associated with accidents and ensuring the reliability of electrical equipment.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position may require you to be on call 24/7.
Multiple positions may be filled from this posting as they become available in one of the following counties: Schuylkill, Carbon, Dauphin, Northumberland, Columbia, Lackawanna, and Luzerne
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Five years of experience in the underground anthracite coal mines of Pennsylvania in the capacity of a mine electrician or electrical engineer and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a standard high school or vocational school;or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Necessary Special Requirement:
Possession of a valid driver's Pennsylvania driver's license.
