THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The focus of this position is telephone intake worker. This includes handling calls, obtaining information from individuals requesting services, and prioritizing and assigning cases. You will receive calls from individuals reporting situations categorized as Protective Services calls requiring a completion of a Report of Need in the SAMS data base. The Aging Care Manager 2 conducts interviews with consumers who come into the office requesting either information or services. You will be expected to organize work, prioritize many phone calls and consumer requests, and resolve issues to a satisfactory conclusion.
Other responsibilities include but not limited to:
Maintaining knowledge and current listing of availability of community support services for the benefit of older and disabled adults
Assisting walk-in consumer requests for completion of forms ie: PACE, Tax Rebate, Rent Rebate, Transportation service applications, LIHEAP
Completing monthly statistic reports
Participating in monthly Unit meetings
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as an Aging Care Manager 1 or a County Caseworker 1;or
Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program;or
Six months of professional human services or nursing experience; and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Schuylkill, Sullivan, or Wyoming counties.
