Description

Fulltime - 40 hours a week

Salary Range - $82,000 - $85,000

The Associate Director of Nurse Education and Perinatal Quality Initiatives will play a vital role in enhancing maternal and neonatal care through education, training, and quality improvement strategies. This position focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs aimed at improving perinatal outcomes and ensuring adherence to best practices in quality and safety. Utilizes regional data in determining clinical programs. Develops collaborative relationships with Maternal Child Health (MCH) providers, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and local health departments to assess community educational needs and resources. Coordinates health education training for staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to The Cooperative’s commitment to equity and continuous quality improvement that align with the agency’s mission, goals, and advancement. * Effectively cross-collaborate with agency staff, leaders, and board members to foster a comprehensive approach of information sharing, working committees, and collective representation. * Routinely disseminate relevant information, presentations, trainings, and learning opportunities for internal program and agency staff. * When applicable, will participate in relevant staff development opportunities (trainings, summits, conferences, etc.) to increase skill development, elevate program goals, and engage staff members with timely key learnings. * Serves as the Primary Nurse Planner for NJSNA and maintains the Provider Unit responsibilities and documentation. * Participates in and coordinates regional statewide forums involving clinical providers Nursing Management Task Force, assists with agenda and lectures, coordinates projects as appropriate. * Assists in grant writing and program design when appropriate. * Membership and active participation in professional associations, legislative committees, and other health care networks. * Assists with collection, tracing, and follow-up related to perinatal data collected throughout the region. * Facilitates Develops and maintains relationships with social service providers, health care providers, community leaders and community-based organizations to ensure client access to community resources to promote organizational goals and education services. * Represents The Cooperative at meetings and conferences of human service professionals, MCH providers and community organizations. * Knowledge of cultural diversity and cultural competency issues related to health care and health outcomes education. * Assess education needs related to nurse education and cultural competence and develop education plans with program managers, in areas such as preterm labor, family planning, immunizations, lead poisoning prevention, dental health, and other areas critical to maternal and infant health; plan ongoing training as indicated or needed. * Assists in development and maintenance of accurate evaluation measures for all educational efforts. * Assess and maintain updated health education resource information including a local speakers bureau.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey

  • MSN required

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of inpatient obstetrics experience

  • Knowledge of educational methodologies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with vulnerable maternal and child health populations a plus.

  • Ability to develop and implement programs

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to plan strategically and complete tasks on time

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

  • Ability to work with both health care/professionals and the consumer population

  • Valid driver’s license, car and current insurance policy

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see to read documents and hear well enough to communicate with others

  • Must be able to write, type on a computer, and use a telephone

  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds

Work Environment:
