Workers will be responsible for the care and maintenance of vineyards. Duties include but are not limited to tiling soil, planting, weeding, pruning, thinning crops, moving catch wires, hedging, installation and removal of bird/animal deterrants such as netting, applying mulch/compost, leaf removal, cleaning and clearing hedgerows, burning of pruning cuttings, picking rocks. Operation of power equipment may be required, such as chain saws, trimmers, hedgers, power washers, operation of tractors, ATVs and tractor pulled equipment. Picking, sorting, loading harvested product, construction and maintenance of trellises, fences, machinery, equipment, buildings, landscaping, drainage systems and ditches. Use of hand tools, including but not limited to shovels, hoes, shears, clippers, loppers, saws, hammers, wire tighteners. Work is done in fields for long periods of time, requiring repetitive movement and extensive walking, bending, stooping and kneeling. Workers are expected to work at least the number of hours and days specified. Depending on weather, crop or other conditions, workers may be requested, but not required to work up to seven days per week and/or on th Sabbath and up to 12 hours per day. Employer will furnish workers, without cost, all tools and equipment required in the performance of duties assigned. Workers should report their own suitable work clothing and footwear. Field temperatures may range between 0-100 degrees fahrenheit. Work is required in the fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, sleet, snow, winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures.
Requirements:
- 2 months experience of the duties mentioned
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds
- Driving requirement
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Extensive sitting/walking, frequent stooping, and repetitive movements.
