Actalent Back Office Medical Assistant in Pembroke Pines, Florida

Job Title: Back Office Medical Assistant FloaterJob Description

The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. Supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient population. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the MA role or dedicated lab role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical and administrative functions under clinician supervision.

  • Support clinician and care management teams in patient assessment and chronic disease management.

  • Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

  • Maintain knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements and basic medical terminology.

  • Apply universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.

  • Communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

  • Assess emergencies and act accordingly.

  • Float between locations as patient queue demands.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma required.

  • 2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting.

  • MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience.

  • Phlebotomy experience required.

  • Ability to take vitals (manual vitals preferred).

  • Active BLS certification required.

  • Active driver's license required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.

  • Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.

Work Environment

100% onsite: Monday-Friday 4:00pm-10:30pm and every other Saturday 1pm-8pm. Floating between locations: Ft. Lauderdale North, FTL South, Pines, Hollywood. Addresses: Pembroke Pines: 400 N. Hiatus Road, Suite 105 Pembroke Pines, FL; Hollywood: Hollywood, FL; FTL North: 6181 N Federal Hwy. Fort Lauderdale, FL; FTL South: 789 S Federal Highway Fort Lauderdale, FL. Permanent opportunity with mileage reimbursement and gas card when traveling between clinics. Willing to train on manual vitals.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00/yr.
