U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Hawaii

Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Production Resources Department (Code 900), Electrical Division (Code 950), Code 952 Electronics Calibration Branch of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Responsibilities You will provide technical advice to the Naval Calibration Director (NCCD) regarding various calibration-related topics. You may be asked to provide technical support during projects, studies, and other research activities led by the Engineering Manager (EM). You will provide recommendations to EM in Support of the Metrology and Calibration Program(METCAL). You will provide recommendations to the EM and/or NCCD regarding changes to local calibration procedures (LCPs) associated with unique Test and Monitoring Systems (TAMS). You will conduct out-of-tolerance evaluations on calibration standards on the effects on customer equipment and instruments. You will as necessary conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure accuracy of completed calibrations. You will conduct evaluations of subcontractor/vendor calibrations to ensure the accuracy meets NAVSEA standards. You will evaluate electrical/electronic Instrument Calibration procedures to match new calibration standards. You will as necessary recommend the purchase of replacement calibration standards and prepares reports in response to inquiries received by the EM. You will submit Calibration Problem Reports (CPR) to identify technical problems or inquires which cannot be resolved locally and recommends resolution or requests corrective action. You will provide technical assistance to NCC bench technicians to resolve technical and process related calibration problems. You will provide on-the-job training to bench technicians when directed. You will provide status reports and updates regarding work to the NCC and EM as appropriate. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering and calibration concepts, practices, policies, and procedures to provide technical advice for the identification and correction of electrical/electronic calibration failures in naval instruments and systems.
