Mercury Systems Senior Principal Product Manager in Peachtree Corners, Georgia
Job Summary: This is an exciting role as a Senior Principal Product Manager with Mercury Systems charting the future of mission-critical high-performance monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), multi-chip modules (MCMs), RF Front Ends and tuner modules that are key to our nation and allies’ most important defense initiatives. This role bridges the gap between what our customers need and what can be built, serving as an advocate internally (with engineering and sales teams), and externally (with vendors and customers). You will also play a key role in increasing the profitability of our existing products and helping to identify and develop new products that address anticipated future customer needs. The successful candidate will be a driving force helping to evolve our existing product line based upon inputs you glean from a variety of sources (e.g., within the company, from suppliers/vendors, or from customers in the field). This role will manage product lifecycles working in tandem with fellow product managers and cross-functional teams to drive revenues for new and legacy product programs throughout their entire product life cycle. Candidates must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision yet attention to detail, and a self-starter personality comfortable with independent problem solving as well as working closely as a team to transform visions into detail oriented differentiated product deliverables. Job Responsibility: * Supporting the management of the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities. * Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by input from sales, business development, and key customers. * Providing integral support for Sales/FAE teams in product quotation process and order acceptance to provide responsive customer support and achieve financial goals. * Driving solution sets across development teams through market requirements, product definition, and positioning/shaping. * Supporting the implementation of a company-wide go-to-market plan, collaborating with all departments to execute. * Analyzing and suggesting potential partner relationships for the product line. * Helping to define and maintain product roadmaps. * Collaborate with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer(s). * Work with your engineering team counterparts to define product release requirements. * Integral to the product quote process, gathering data to direct future product definitions and assist in the product pricing/positioning process. * Facilitating updates to global product price list, product ordering status, product lead times, product cost analyses, and product configuration changes driven by customer requirements, obsolescence or product strategy. * Stay current with trends and issues across our product market to understand problems, opportunities, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. Required Qualification: * 8+ years of related experience with bachelor's degree in STEM or business field, related experience can be less with higher level degree * Technical familiarity with microwave solutions including MMIC, MCM and modules. * Experience in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. * Ability to travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America and Europe (up to 25%). * This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. Preferred Qualification: * Experience doing business with the US Department of Defense, Primes and Tier 3+ customers. * Exceptional communicator -- adept at both written and oral communication. * Collaborative work style. * Solid organizational skills with attention to detail. * Understanding of defense industry practices and procedures. * Some understanding of electronics design, manufacturing operations, inventory management and product life cycle management principles. * Candidates located close to Mercury's Peachtree Corners, GA offices.
