Saint-Gobain Electrical Engineering Technician in PEACHTREE CITY, Georgia
What’s the job?
This position will provide electrical technical support to the maintenance engineering department. This will include supporting the project work and maintenance functions supporting the production lines. Responsible for adhering to all safety, health and environmental matters. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Support the electrical engineer with capital or expense project work
Keep track of and effectively communicate out current status of project work
Assist the electrical maintenance supervisor with production issues or electrical plant upgrades
Write capital requests for projects that are capital upgrades or spares
Assist electricians with troubleshooting operational issues on the line.
Update AutoCAD drawings so they remain current in our database
Responsible for various levels of contractor management on-site
Oversee small to moderate project work in the $50K range or less to include upgrades and obsolescence replacement
Assist in training electricians in their class advancement requirements
Assist in keeping data on maintenance tablets up to date
Perform regular quality control checks to ensure that each component of the project adheres to the high standards of the company
Be a member of the team that inspects new and altered machinery during commissioning
Participate in the reliabilities pillar’s initiatives for improving Technical Mean Time Between Failure as needed
Provide ideas for improvements and assist in identifying areas in need of electrical maintenance
Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
Conduct weekly SMAT Audits or any other requirements as requested by Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What do you bring?
Bachelor’s degree preferred or appropriate combination of academic equivalent and work experience (3-5 years) in the areas of electrical technical support such as electrical troubleshooting, replacing electrical components, and working with PLCs (manufacturing environment preferred).
Strong computer skills to deliver effective reporting utilizing business operations tools, MS Excel and other software programs.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, management teams and able to define clear vision, goals and service standards.
Ability to manage projects, work independently.
Professionally and effectively problem solve and remain calm in high-stress situations.
The ability to shift back and forth between the various functions and multitask throughout the work day.
